Description
The Vimentin Antibody is the primary filament protein in all mesenchymal cells. It is believed to be part of the intracellular transport of the proteins between the plasma membrane and nucleus. It can be used as a stain for lymphomas, vascular tumors, and melanomas, as well as sarcomas of muscle, fibroblast, and neural origin, though carcinomas are usually negative.
Procedure And Applications
It is designed for use in Western Blotting, Flow Cytometry, and IHC. The IHC procedure involves preparing the specimen, deparaffinizing the slides, diluting the Vimentin Antibody at a 1:200 ratio and incubating for 30 minutes. The positive controls are sarcomas and melanomas.
For Western Blotting, it is recommended to dilute the solution at a ratio of 1:100 and incubate at room temperature for one hour. The positive control is the HeLa Cell Lysate.
For the Flow Cytometry, you should dilute it at a ratio of 1:100 and incubate for 30 minutes at four degrees Celsius. The positive control here is the HeLa Cell Line.
