The Great American Eclipse of August 2017 was wildly successful, and millions of people enjoyed something truly unique. It offered a great opportunity to travel, have fun, and spend time with friends and family. But unfortunately, these events are rare, and they don’t happen very often. Yet, the next one comes in a couple of years, and you may be wondering if you can view the 2019 solar eclipse in your hometown. Here is information about 2019 solar eclipse.
When Does It Happen?
On the second day of July in 2019, another total eclipse of the sun is scheduled to occur. However, this event will be confined to a narrow section of the planet, but partial eclipses can be seen from a wider viewing area. The entire event is expected to last for a little over four and one-half minutes.
Where Will It Occur?
If you live in North America, you won’t be able to see the 2019 solar eclipse. In fact, even parts of South America are excluded unless you are as far south as Chile’s Coquimbo Region that includes La Serena. In this area, timing is very important because the eclipse is expected to happen around sunset. Also, if you plan to be east of New Zealand or in the southern part of the Pacific Ocean, you can see this eclipse. In fact, if you are in the Pitcairn Island of Oeno you can view the eclipse in totality. The Pitcairn Islands are located in the South Pacific and are sparsely populated.
What about North America?
Perhaps you live in the US and are wondering “what’s next after the 2019 solar eclipse?” In the year 2024, another total eclipse is coming to the United States. It will be viewable from Oregon all the way to South Carolina. Make sure that you have your eclipse viewers ahead of time.
