This meant that there were now jagged edges in his gums. He eventually required surgery in order to remove the teeth and to prevent a possibly fatal spread of infection.
The boy is now under the care of a dentist. The father has been sentenced to prison time despite arguments from his attorney that Torres has a history of mental disabilities and drug abuse that render him unable to fulfil his responsibilities as a parent.
